Giving Tuesday: Tues Nov 29, 2016

GivingTuesday Countdown

What are you doing for Giving TuesdayGiving Tuesday is a global day of giving that happens each year after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It’s a time when Canadians, charities and businesses come together to celebrate giving and participate in activities that support charities and non-profits.  Giving Tuesday is a movement for everyone who wants to give something back.

WP Puppet Theatre is pleased to gift one complimentary 3 hour View from the Inside Workshop for Giving Tuesday as part of our GIVE BACK program.  Will you help us give more? We would like to provide other non-profit and charitable organizations with a View from the Inside: Courage Journey Workshop (“Courage Journey Workshops”) series of 6-8 workshops at a subsidized rate or, even better, free of charge, and with your help we can do this. The Courage Journey Workshops is a puppetry based arts project exploring the experiences of Calgarians who struggle in different ways with mental wellness. Professional project leaders guide participants through an art making process where stories inspire the creation of mask – body puppets.  Our current program consists of six to eight workshops exploring public me, private me, connect to me, and performing me.

One person in every four will be affected by a mental disorder at some stage of life. Emerging research suggests that creative arts therapies and experiences can help to reduce anxiety and increase self-esteem and quality of life.  The Courage Journey Workshops give participants the opportunity to bring to light their experiences of challenge and resiliency through art making, storytelling, drama and movement, live puppetry performance and media technologies.

Your donation not only helps W.P. Puppet Theatre Society accomplish its goals but also the goals and needs of other organizations!  Please donate today!

Why get involved with WP Puppet Theatre?

We are a busy professional organization that has operated in a competitive market for over 25 years.  Our main source of income is ‘earned revenue’.  We are very cost efficient with our resources.  We have frequent repeat bookings and are respected for our integrity in all areas of operation.  We reach 5,000 people annually at over 150 events.

We measure our effectiveness through qualitative and highly informative feedback from school principals, teachers, adult participants, parents and children themselves.

With your support we can stimulate our young audiences, to wonder, figure things out, make sense of their world and find their place in it. That’s PUPPET POWER!
