Giving TuesdayS for the month of December

Giving Tuesday iconThis GivingTuesday donate to W.P. Puppet Theatre Society’s continued artistic and social contributions.

We are celebrating  Giving TuesdayS, not once, but four times, through the month of December 2021.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, taking place each year after Black Friday. The “opening day of the giving season,” it’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join and rally for favourite causes.

The arts, and puppets in particular, are an all-time favourite. Your donations will go towards our programming for Calgary and area as well as the research we’re undertaking on measuring the efficacy of our program VIEW from the Inside.

View from the Inside puppet mask by LeahVIEW from the Inside: Courage Journey is an award-winning program that invites adults and seniors to explore their creativity in a friendly, supportive community. In the eight week online course, participants make a self-portrait-based puppet which, together with a videoed performative reflection, becomes a  nuanced artifact, resulting in an amazing legacy project!

This program promotes mental health and wellness, and quality of life for seniors, providing evidence-based evaluation to build sustainability and continued excellence for the program.

Past participants say:

The VIEW from the Inside program was an opportunity for me to take time, ‘make’ time for myself to explore feelings, create and share with a small group …supportive and fun.

From the moment the box of art supplies arrived on my doorstep, it led me on a journey of confidence to do more art and play.
