Volunteer with your passion:: make a difference!

WP Puppet Theatre is looking for volunteers for several of our exciting projects. Working alongside our Artistic Director these roles are pivotal in our work to use the power of puppetry to effect positive social change. Time requirement is dependent on the work plan and is adaptable to the candidate’s opportunities for commitment.


Online Auction
Looking for a few friendly individuals to assist with obtaining items from local businesses for our online auction for the auction to raise funds for the Puppet Power 2016 Conference. Introductory letters are available and list of prospects. We are planning to hold the auction in November 2015.

Conference Kick off Event planners
Looking for dynamic individuals to assist with planning an exciting kick off event for our Puppet Power conference and to celebrate National Puppetry Day. We are planning to hold the event in April 2016.

Photographer and videographer
Looking for a photographer and videographer to help at our events and create a great archive of puppets in action. Best if you have your own equipment, but could use ours if necessary.

RIG Event coordinator
An exciting part of our Puppet Power conference we require a volunteer to send invitations and coordinate replies to Alberta based NGO’s, NFP’s and charities. As well as send out a call for proposals to participate in the Rapid Idea Generation session (RIG). Lists and samples are available but need to be updated.

Looking for an organized and uber- friendly volunteer to ensure the ‘little meaningful extras’ for our Puppet Power 2016 conference. This would include coordinating airport pickups, venue amenities, nametags, gift bags and welcome packages. Work closely with the PP16 planning committee.

Materials procurement and preparation
Looking for someone crafty and organized, with a vehicle for purchasing, sorting and preparing puppet making materials for the Puppet Power conference and Puppet Pop Up studio. Might also look for donated items.

These volunteer roles have the option to expand to Board of Director positions. Our hands-on, grassroots Board meets every 2 months. Time commitment is an average of 7 hours per month.
